Help for race weekend

Mud Lap is the tyre and pit book for club and masters cyclocross riders. Below are answers to the questions riders and pit helpers ask most, and a form if you need us.

Common questions

Where does the tyre call come from?

From your own logged races. Mud Lap first looks for races at the same venue in the same mud level, weights them by the grip you rated and how recent they are, and corrects each one by how the pressure felt (too soft, spot on, too hard). If there is no match it uses the same venue in other mud, then similar ground elsewhere, then a starting point from your weight, tyre system and width.

How do I make the call more accurate?

After each race, tap Log result and fill in the tyres you actually raced plus how the pressure felt. Two or three races at a venue are usually enough for the call to settle.

How does my pit helper use the lap counter?

Open the pit plan, mark the swap laps and share the pit card. On race day open Lap counter on the phone your helper holds, tap START with the gun and LAP each time you cross the line. The banner turns green on a swap lap. The count keeps running if they leave the screen.

The mud suggestion says "forecast unavailable".

Rain data loads about two weeks before a race and needs a connection. In airplane mode the app opens without it; pull down on the race screen to refresh later.

Bar or psi?

Both are always shown. Switch the main unit on the tyre call panel or in Settings.

I don't get reminders.

Tap Remind me on the race and allow notifications. If you declined earlier, turn notifications on for Mud Lap in the iOS Settings app.

Can I move my data to a new phone?

Your book lives on the device and is included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup. You can also export the race log as CSV from Settings.

How do I remove the sample season?

Settings → Erase everything clears the book. Settings → Reload sample season brings the example races back.
